Pacific Bay Lending respects your privacy. You can read every guide and browse homes on this site without giving us any personal information, and we do not sell your personal information. The sections below explain how we handle the information you do choose to share.

Who this applies to

This statement covers Pacific Bay Lending (Pacific Bay Lending Corp, NMLS #192103) and the pages on this site where you can search homes, use a calculator, or request a pre-qualification. As a mortgage lender, how we treat your nonpublic personal information is governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and applicable state law.

What we collect

You can read every guide and browse homes without giving us any personal information. We only collect what you choose to provide — for example, your name, contact details, and the financial information needed to pre-qualify you for a loan — plus basic, non-identifying usage data (like which pages are visited) that helps us keep the site working. We ask for sensitive financial details only when you start a pre-qualification, and only what the loan process actually requires.

How a credit check works here

A pre-qualification starts with a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score. A full (hard) credit pull only happens later, if you choose to move forward with a formal application — and we tell you before that happens. We never run a hard inquiry just for reading a guide or using a calculator.

Why we use your information

We use the information you provide to do the thing you asked us to do: answer your questions, estimate what you may qualify for, match you to loan programs, and process a loan if you move forward. We do not use it to make decisions based on any characteristic protected by the Fair Housing Act or the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the services you request (for example, with service providers, an underwriting partner, or as required by law) and as permitted under GLBA. Where the loan process requires sharing information with a third party to complete your request, we limit it to what that step needs.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, and this site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we treat the financial information you share with the care a lending relationship requires.

Your choices

You can browse the learning center and homes without identifying yourself, decline to provide information (which may limit what we can do for you), and ask us about the information you've shared. Contact us through the About page to make a request.

Changes to this statement

We may update this statement as our practices or the law change. The effective date below reflects the most recent update. This page is a plain-English summary of our privacy posture and is not a substitute for the full, counsel-reviewed privacy notice you receive in connection with a loan application.
